WHAT COACH WEBB IS SAYING

On her team's efforts in a 0-0 tie against Texas Woman's and 2-0 loss against Angelo State last week... "Big match against Texas Woman's, they're at the top of the conference and top of the region, so to get a result and a point off of that was awesome. I thought we played played really well and had our chances. Just kind of the same thing that happened on Saturday, we can't score. We cracked four off the post on the weekend and gave up two soft goals, they earned them, but stuff that we should be able to handle this time of the year. 99 percent of the time I'm happy with the way we played, but that one percent we just have to fix."

On the outlook for the last week of the regular season... "Another tough one on the road tomorrow. Probably in the rain and cold against a team that is fighting for a spot in the playoffs. Excited to be at home on Friday to honor our faculty and staff."

LAST TIME OUT

UT Tyler fought their way to a 0-0 draw on Wednesday night against Texas Woman's. A physical, high-level defensive match was put on display for both teams as quality chances proved hard to come by. Texas Woman's won the shot battle 11-to-7, five of which were on target. UT Tyler had their best chances of the night in the early stages of the second half, as junior Mackenzee Stokes nearly beat the Pioneer keeper to a through ball in the 48th minute, but couldn't reach the pass in time before the keeper came sliding in. Senior Payton Taylor put a bouncing cross over the top of the cross bar just a few minutes later on what was a quality chance in the 52nd minute. Sophomore Melissa Oliveira put the only other shot on target for the Patriots in the second half in the 72nd minute. The keeper duo of Emily Clark and Daniella Wilken combined for a clean sheet with five total saves. A goal in each half for Angelo State was the difference in a 2-0 UT Tyler loss to the Rambelles on Saturday afternoon. UT Tyler threatened to answer on multiple occasions throughout the match, but a pair of goals within 10 minutes of gametime apart for Angelo State secured the win for the Rambelles. The Patriots totaled 13 shots, seven of which were on target.
