AND THEN THERE WERE 32

The Patriots had it all working on Friday night in San Angelo, Texas as they faced Colorado School of Mines in the NCAA South Central Region Quarterfinals. They held the Orediggers to just 28.8% from the floor and shot almost 40% on their end of the floor on their way to a 10 point win and their first ever NCAA Tournament win in the Division II era.

ROUND THREE

Saturday night will see the Patriots and the Rambelles match up for the third time of the season. Both programs have split the previous two matchups with the Patriots winning back on February 18th on San Angelo by a score of 62-51 and the Rambelles took the most recent matchup on March 4th by a score of 62-53.

In that February 18th matchup, the Patriots held the Rambelles to season lows in shooting percentage (25.4%) and their lowest point total of the season on their way to a big 11 point win. In the matchup on March 4th, the Rambelles used a big second quarter to take the lead over the Patriots and then outlasted them down the stretch to take the win on the neutral court at the LSC Championship.

HOW THE RAMBELLES GOT HERE

On Friday night, the no. 1 seeded Rambelles squared off with no. 8 seeded West Texas A&M and came away with a 70-65 win. In that contest, Sawyer Lloyd posted a triple double and Madeline Stephens dropped in 17 points and 13 rebounds. The Rambelles and Lady Buffs battled tightly for a majority of the game, but a late push on offense from Angelo State secured the win.
