WHAT COACH WEBB IS SAYING

On her team's efforts in their final non-conference matches last week... "Two great games on the road. The Ouachita Baptist game was a tough place to play, a tough facility to play in and they're a really good opportunistic team. We made two really big mistakes and it cost us the game. We had to learn from that. At Harding there was a ton of people there and it's a much smaller field than we're used to playing on, so we had to make some adjustments. Our fight was incredible all week. We just have to be more clinical in the box and more hungry in the box to score goals."

On Wednesday's trip to San Antonio to meet St. Mary's... "We've really been preparing for these conference road games for two weeks now. These types of games were the purpose behind us scheduling the tough non-conference schedule. We're a great match-up for them, it was a tough battle against them last year. We're going to have to be tough and from here on out there are no excuses and we've got to be able to produce on Wednesday."

On Saturday's home match against Eastern New Mexico... "Every home game is always an exciting day. It's Senior Day, we've got a great group of seniors this year, so we're excited to be able to honor them. You look at our conference and there's no game you can circle and say this is a game we're going to win, every single team this year is significantly better, so every result and every point matters."

LAST TIME OUT

UT Tyler suffered it's first loss of the season on Thursday evening in 2-1 fashion against Ouachita Baptist. The Patriots out-shot the Tigers by a 17-to-10 margin, but a goal in each half for Ouachita Baptist was the difference in the non-conference tilt. Senior Maddie Higgins deflected in a pair of shots to cut a 2-0 advantage in half for Ouachita Baptist with just over 20 minutes left on the clock, but the Tigers were able to hold onto the win in the waning minutes. The Patriots then closed out non-conference play on Saturday with a 0-0 draw at Harding. The two teams combined for 16 shots on goal in the contest, but neither managed to convert on the bevy of opportunities to complete the 90 minutes of play in a scoreless draw. UT Tyler keeper's Daniella Wilken and Emily Clark, who each completed a half in goal on Saturday, made seven saves on the afternoon. Both Patriots produced highlighted saves on set pieces in their respective half's in net to produce a combined rock-solid output. Sophomore Brooke Mullins led the Patriots with three shots in the game, joining junior Sydnee Garner with a pair of shots on goal, to highlight the UT Tyler offensive attack. The Patriots outshot the Lady Bisons 13-to-12, nine of which found their way on target.

PATRIOT NEWS AND NOTES

- This week will begin the fifth season of action in the Lone Star Conference for UT Tyler. The Patriots are 10-27-7 (.307) in Lone Star Conference play.
- UT Tyler is 12-6-2 in non-conference play during the Division II era. The Patriots hold a record of 22-32-9 since beginning Division II play in 2019.
- UT Tyler has outscored their opposition by a 23-to-9 margin in the month of September over the course of the last two seasons. The Patriots are now 7-2-4 over that stretch of play.
- Brooke Mullins leads UT Tyler with four points. Five Patriots have recorded two points on the year. Mullins leads the team with two goals, while the other four Patriot goals in 2023 have come from a different scorer (Maddie Higgins, Alexia Moreira, Alyssa Palisi, Sienna Skinlo).
- Sydnee Garner leads the Patriots with 14 totals shots, eight of which have been on goal.
- UT Tyler ranks fourth in the Lone Star Conference in goals allowed per game at .80. Keepers Daniella Wilken and Emily Clark, who have effectively each played a half in goal in the most recent outings for the squad, have combined for the third best save percentage in the LSC at .867 percent. The two keepers have made 22 saves for an average of 4.4 per contest, third most in the LSC.
- UT Tyler averages the sixth most shots per contest with an average of 15.00 per game.
- Head coach Stefani Webb  has accumulated a record of 199-92-27 (.669) as head coach of the Patriots. She sports a 289-138-334 (.664) overall record over the span of her 27 years of collegiate coaching experience, having previously spent eight seasons as the head coach of the University of Dallas.
- The 2022 season was a banner year for the program at the NCAA Division II level as the Patriots posted their highest win total of the Division II era with an overall mark of 7-5-5 for the year. UT Tyler appeared in the NCAA Division II South Central Regional rankings for the first time and also put forth the best start in the 20-year history of the program with a 5-0 record to begin the year.
- UT Tyler finished 7-1-3 at home last season and are 112-42-11 all-time at the Citizen's 1st Bank-Perkins Soccer Complex. (.710). 

ST. MARY'S AT A GLANCE

- St. Mary's completed their non-conference schedule with a 1-1-4 record. Their lone win came in their first outing of the season, a 5-0 victory over East Central.
- The Rattlers have notched four consecutive ties entering Wednesday's LSC opener.
- Shelby Paniagua leads the team with three goals and five assists. She ranks sixth in the Lone Star Conference with an average of 1.83 points per game.
- Rebecca Difronzo has played all six games in goal for the Rattlers and holds a .684 save percentage.
- UT Tyler is 1-1 all-time against St. Mary's. The Patriots lost last year's meeting with the Rattlers by a 1-0 final. The first meeting between the two programs was a 2-0 UT Tyler victory.

- Eastern New Mexico is 1-2-3 thus far in 2023 and will host Lubbock Christian on Wednesday night prior to the Patriot's meeting with the Greyhounds on Saturday.
- The Greyhounds have been outscored 10-6 so far in 2023. Sydney Faxon and Emma Hafenbrak lead the Greyhounds with two goals apiece.
- Samantha Jeffries has spent the majority of time in goal for Eastern New Mexico and has totaled 23 saves this year.
- UT Tyler is 0-2-1 all-time against Eastern New Mexico. Eastern New Mexico has claimed victory in both meetings in Portales, and a tie in the lone meeting in Tyler back in 2021, 1-1.
