LAST TIME OUT

#24 UT Tyler continued their winning ways last weekend, polishing off a 2-0 LSC weekend behind a win over then #19 ranked Texas A&M International and a victory over Texas A&M-Kingsville.

Against the Dustdevils, the Patriots put together one of their most complete efforts of the season on their way to a 65-47 win. They held the Dustdevils to their second lowest shooting percentage of the season and outscored them 15-4 in the fourth quarter alone.

Against the Javelinas on Saturday, the Patriots again put up another strong defensive effort, holding them to their third lowest percentage of the season. The Javelinas matched that defensive intensity however, but the Patriots pulled away with another huge fourth quarter to cap off an 11-0 start to LSC play.

NATIONAL ATTENTION

With their second win over a ranked opponent this season coming last weekend, the Patriots have vaulted themselves back inside the WBCA Top 25, this week posting up at #24. The Patriots are joined in the rankings by #13 Texas Woman's, (RV) Texas A&M International, and South Central Region foe #12 Colorado School of Mines.

LSC PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Ella Bradley picked up Lone Star Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors after a tremendous effort over the weekend contests. Bradley posted career highs in both points (18) and rebounds (12) in the game against the Dustdevils. Also in that contest, she grabbed more offensive rebounds than any other player had total rebounds.

Against the Javelinas, Bradley posted another career day, this time posting career highs in both assists (5) and steals (5) on her way to seven points on the day.

This is the fourth LSC weekly award earned by the Patriots this season, joining two time winner Tina Machalova and Montse Gutierrez.

STILL STREAKING

With the two wins over the weekend, the Patriots extended their winning streak to 15 games, the longest of the Rebecca Alvidrez era and the Division II era for the program and is also tied for the second longest in Division II. You would have to go all the way back to the 2015-2016 season to find a longer winning streak for the program. That year, they won 22 consecutive games before falling in the NCAA Division III Elite Eight.

The Patriots also have a huge home winning streak which stands at 24 straight games. That winning streak is the second longest in all of NCAA Division II and only trails Catawba at 27 straight games. The last home defeat the Patriots suffered came all the way back on February 12, 2022 against #7 Texas A&M-Commerce.
