WHAT COACH WEBB IS SAYING
On last week's pair of results against #9 DBU and UT Permian Basin.. "A really good week for us. Great crowd for them and they're a really good team. We really had to make sure we were dialed into the details. They scored a fantastic goal, but really proud of the resiliency of this team. One of the beautiful things about this team this year is that when it's your name, you've gotta step up and be big. We called on Hallie Keese last week, the game was for her, and she scored a great goal for us. Happy to get out of there with a 1-1 tie. UT Permian Basin has been gritty and hard to score against all year. but I feel like our girls were really dialed into the details. We finished that game strong and had a great performance from a alot of different players."
On Texas A&M International and Oklahoma Christian as opponents... "Three points are huge in this conference. We play on the road in Laredo against Texas A&M International, they play a little different formation and manipulate it a little bit, so we're going to have to be prepared for some of those changes. It's also on the road, for a long road trip and a late day game, so we're going to have to do a lot of work mentally to get ready for that one. Then back home on Saturday against Oklahoma Christian. Should be a big one. We have over 40 alumni coming back for the weekend and Fall Fest coming up so we're excited about the weekend. I know Oklahoma Christian is really good, so we have two good teams this week that play a different brand, so we're going to have to really dial in."
LAST TIME OUT
Freshman
Ella Anderson scored twice while
Natalie Jones and
Katelyn Walerczyk both had a goal and an assist to pave the way for a 4-0 win over UT Permian Basin. UT Tyler put the game away early in the second half after Walerczyk and Anderson put the third and fourth goals on the board for the Patriots. The no-doubt victory gives UT Tyler their eighth win of the season, the highest single season win total in the Division II era for the program, and marks a fourth straight result in Lone Star Conference play.
UT Tyler came away with a well-earned point in Lone Star Conference play with a 1-1 tie on the road at #9 Dallas Baptist on Thursday night. Freshman
Halli Keese scored the equalizer off a cross from
Sydnee Garner that rattled off her chest and into the back of the DBU net with less than five minutes remaining on the clock. That score insured UT Tyler would have a point to show for in what was an otherwise balanced match across the board. Both teams finished with 17 shots and matched each other's pace for essentially all 90 minutes of action. UT Tyler blocked two of Dallas Baptist's best chances in the opening half in what would eventually be key plays in the 1-1 result.
