TYLER, TEXAS – The University of Texas at Tyler volleyball program has earned the no. 7 seed in the South Central Region and will face no. 2 seed West Texas A&M in the opening round of the 2024 NCAA Division II Volleyball National Tournament as announced Monday night via an online selection show.
The Patriots will play that opening round match on December 5
th at the Junell Center – Stephens Arena in San Angelo, Texas. The winner of that match moves into the South Central Region Semifinals to be played on December 6
th, and the Championship match will take place on December 7
th.
UT Tyler earned the no. 7 seed after compiling a record of 18-8 and 14-2 in LSC play. This is the fourth straight season that the Patriots earned a spot in the NCAA Tournament, one for each of the four seasons that the Patriots have been Division II eligible.
They are one of five Lone Star Conference programs to earn selection, joining no. 1 seed Angelo State, no. 2 West Texas A&M, no. 4 DBU, and no. 6 Texas Woman's. UT Tyler and West Texas A&M will meet for a fourth consecutive season in the NCAA Tournament.
