LAST TIME OUT

Last weekend saw UT Tyler take on UT Permian Basin and Angelo State. The Patriots looked decisive against the Falcons, shooting 45.6% from the floor and 46.2% from deep on their way to a huge 17 point win. On Saturday against the Rambelles, the Patriots found themselves in a defensive war that saw them have a chance down the stretch late, but the Rambelles made their free throws and took down the Patriots.

WHAT'S AT STAKE

Thursday night's game will be the regular season finale for UT Tyler as they take on #10 Texas Woman's in what is the biggest regular season game of the season for both sides. With a win on Thursday night, the Patriots will become LSC Regular Season Co-Champions, a first in program history, and also take the #1 seed in next week's LSC postseason tournament.

If the Pioneers win, they claim their second straight outright regular season LSC championship, and the #1 seed in next week's tournament. Both teams are already locked into the #1 and #2 seeds by their record and tiebreakers.

As for the rest of the tournament field, the first seven teams are set, but their seeding has not been determined. The final spot is up for grabs, with Texas A&M-Kingsville and UAFS fighting for the eighth seed.

NATIONAL ATTENTION

The Patriots jumped back into the Receiving Votes category of the Women's Basketball Coaches Association poll this week, joining four other South Central Region teams in the poll. They are joined by #10 Texas Woman's, (RV) Colorado Mesa, (RV) Regis, and (RV) Texas A&M International.

Additionally, the Patriots were named as one of the 10 teams under consideration for the NCAA South Central Regional Tournament last Wednesday.

That is the first of three rankings that will be published prior to the NCAA Selection Show that takes place March 10th.

SENIOR DAY

This Thursday night will also mark Senior Day for the Patriots, as they honor a quartet of players that have made a monumental impact on the program. Franzi Prinz, Meagan Mendazona, Frances King, and Tina Machalova will each be honored in a ceremony pregame.
