RICHARDSON, TEXAS – UT Tyler senior
Cassidi Mullen has been named the Lone Star Conference Hitter of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.
Mullen hit .714 at the plate in #6 UT Tyler's trio of 8-0 run-rule victories over UT Permian Basin last week. She becomes the second representative from UT Tyler to earn a Player of the Week distinction from the Lone Star Conference after pitcher
Crimson Bryant was named the league's Pitcher of the Week back in week two.
The Royse City, Texas native filled up the box score to compliment that .714 average at the plate, scoring three runs, driving in three runs and registering a pair of stolen bases. Mullen finished the series with an on-base percentage of .800.
She currently leads UT Tyler and ranks fifth in the Lone Star Conference with a batting average of .444 for the year.
The Patriots have won seven straight and sit 16-5 on the year and 8-4 in Lone Star Conference play.
