Crimson Bryant matched the program record with 12 strikeouts in #6 UT Tyler's third straight 8-0 win over UT Permian Basin last Wednesday. Bryant struckout 12 of the 17 batters she faced, including six out of the first seven of the ballgame, and gave up an infield bloop single as her only hit of the afternoon. th straight home victory solidified a third straight run-rule sweep of the Falcons on Wednesday afternoon.
#6 UT Tyler run-ruled UT Permian Basin by 8-0 final scores in both games on Tuesday afternoon and featured a
Kaylee Davis no-hitter and a wealth of offensive production along the way. Davis retired 15 of the 17 batters she faced, conceding just a walk and an error, in the five-inning game two victory. Three different Patriots notched three hits in the game one six-inning victory as

Courtney Plocheck and
Cassidi Mullen all posted a trio of hits.
PATRIOT NEWS AND NOTES
- #6 UT Tyler will travel to Midwestern State over the weekend following an extended break from Lone Star Conference action over the last week. The Patriots sit 16-5 on the year and 8-4 in Lone Star Conference play. They enter the weekend road trip winners of their last seven games.
- UT Tyler is 8-1 all-time against Midwestern State and 3-1 against the Mustangs in Wichita Falls. The Patriots have won seven straight in the series, including five out of the last six meetings via a run-rule.
- The Patriots currently own the longest active home winning streak in all of Division II softball with 40 straight at Irwin Field. UT Tyler is 343-43 (.886) all-time on their home field and completed the 2023 season with a perfect 33-0 mark at their home ballpark.

Cassidi Mullen was named the Lone Star Conference Hitter of the Week after batting .714 at the plate in #6 UT Tyler's trio of 8-0 run-rule victories over UT Permian Basin last week. She becomes the second representative from UT Tyler to earn a Player of the Week distinction from the Lone Star Conference after pitcher
Crimson Bryant was named the league's Pitcher of the Week back in week two. The Royse City, Texas native filled up the box score to compliment that .714 average at the plate, scoring three runs, driving in three runs and registering a pair of stolen bases. Mullen finished the series with an on-base percentage of .800.

Kaylee Davis has won each of her last four starts, all of which were complete game efforts, and posted her most impressive performance in her latest outing against UT Permian Basin. Davis no-hit the Falcons, retiring 15 of the 17 batters she faced, and was an error and a walk away from a perfect game. Davis owns a 1.17 ERA and a perfect 5-0 record on the year, and has allowed just two earned runs over her last 25.0 innings of work.
- UT Tyler ranks third in the Lone Star Conference with a team batting average of .340 on the year. The Patriots pitching staff ranks second in the league with a 1.87 ERA as a unit.
- Mullen ranks fifth on the year in the LSC with a .444 average and graduate student

Sam Schott seventh in the league with a .417 average at the plate. Schott ranks fourth in the LSC with 22 runs scored on the year.
- UT Tyler remained no. 6 in the latest NFCA Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll for the second straight week. The Patriots are one of three LSC representatives to earn a ranking alongside West Texas A&M (no. 2) and Angelo State (no. 25).
- UT Tyler softball is in the midst of the 20th year of the program with an all-time record of 772-148 (.841) dating back to the inaugural 2005 campaign. The Patriots are 177-30 (.865) in four seasons of Division II play and have gone 105-16 (.889) in Lone Star Conference games over that timeframe. UT Tyler has finished as Division II National Semifinalists in both seasons of Division II postseason eligibility in 2022 and 2023.
- The Patriots have won 50-plus games in two seasons after going 50-5 back in 2015 and have not registered double-digit losses in a season in 12 straight years.
- UT Tyler has made 12 appearances in an NCAA National Championship Tournament between the Division II and III levels, and have advanced to the NCAA World Series in nine of those 12 trips.

Mike Reed and his staff garnered ATEC/NFCA South Central Regional Coaching Staff of the Year honors for a third consecutive season. The honors come in each of the first three complete seasons at the NCAA Division II level. Coach Reed and his staff have been named regional staff of the year by the NFCA on nine different occasions (2023, 2022, 2021, 2018, 2017, 2016, 2015, 2013, 2009) dating back to the program's inaugural season in 2005.

Mike Reed is in his 20th season at the helm of the program after previously serving for three seasons as the head coach at East Texas Baptist before taking over at UT Tyler. Reed ranks fourth among all NCAA divisions in career winning percentage (.825), posting a 875-178 career mark through 22 career seasons. He owns the second-highest all-time win percentage among Division III coaches, coaching 18 of his 20 seasons at the Division III level, and is a nine-time American Southwest Conference Coach of the Year, and seven-time NFCA Regional Coach of the Year. He has helped develop 36 All-Americans, 103 all-region and 162 all-conference selections and has led the UT Tyler program to the NCAA World Series in nine of the 13 years since the Patriots became postseason eligible in Division III.
- The home of UT Tyler softball has been recognized as a 2023 Netting Professionals/NFCA Field of the Year honoree by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association. Irwin Field received recognition as the top softball facility across the Division II landscape as one of seven facilities across seven different levels to earn the award. Opened in 2005, Irwin Field is a continuous host of NCAA postseason competition. The facility has hosted two Division III national championship tournaments, along with 10 regional and six super regional rounds. This award, made possible by NFCA Official Sponsor Netting Professionals, recognizes top fields/stadiums in the nation for their flawless grounds maintenance and exceptional playing surfaces. These locations are selected by the NFCA Awards Committee for NCAA Divisions I, II, and III, NAIA, NJCAA, Cal JC, NWAC, and High School. The winners were nominated by NFCA member coaches and selected by a panel of their peers on the NFCA Awards Committee.
