-#3 UT Tyler advanced to a third straight appearance in the NCAA Division II World Series in each of the program's first three seasons of postseason eligibility with a pair of wins over Oklahoma Christian in the NCAA Division II South Central Super Regionals. The Patriots went 5-0 through South Central Regional play to advance to the NCAA Division II World Series and have won 26 out of their last 27 games entering the tournament.
- The Patriots have been seeded no. 2 in this year's eight team double-elimination bracket and will open play on Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. CST against no. 7 seeded Augustana. UT Tyler is 5-4 in the NCAA DII World Series and have finished as national semifinalists in each of their first two appearances in the tournament.
- Augustana advanced to the 2024 NCAA Division II World Series as champions of the Central Region and boast the longest active winning streak in Division II softball with 32 straight victories. The Vikings are the only team in the field to have previously won an NCAA Division II National Championship having won in 1991 and in 2019. Augustana has outscored their opponents by a 26-6 margin so far in the NCAA DII National Tournament.
- Augustana and UT Tyler have met three times, with all three meetings having been decided by two or less runs. The Patriots hold a 3-1 advantage in the series and defeated Augustana back in 2019 in Clermont, Fla. by a 7-6 margin.
- UT Tyler is 18-6 all-time in NCAA Division II National Tournament play. The Patriots have made 13 appearances in an NCAA National Tournament between the NCAA Division II and Division II levels and have advanced to the NCAA World Series in nine out of those 13 trips.
- UT Tyler is 115-36 all-time in postseason play and 77-30 in NCAA National Tournament play dating back to their inaugural appearance in the 2008 season.
- UT Tyler softball is in the midst of the 20th year of the program with an all-time record of 809-151 (.842) dating back to the inaugural 2005 campaign. The Patriots are 214-33 (.863) in five seasons of Division II play and have gone 139-17 (.887) in Lone Star Conference games over that timeframe. UT Tyler has has claimed four straight Regular Season Lone Star Conference Champinships in each of the first four complete seasons of play in the conference for the Patriots.
- Freshman Makayla Garcia leads the Patriots with a .438 average so far in the NCAA Division II National Tournament and has posted a team high six RBI. Nicole Price has also been extremely effective for UT Tyler, posting a .357 average at the plate with six runs scored.
- Junior Christin Haygood has appeared in all five games of the NCAA Division II National Tournament for UT Tyler, having made three starts and collecting a pair of saves. The Huffman, Texas native has allowed just two earned runs in 18.2 innings pitched. Senior Genesis Armendariz has been outstanding for UT Tyler in the circle as well, picking up a pair of wins while striking out 12 in 13.0 innings of work.
- The UT Tyler softball program placed three representatives on the 2024 NFCA Division II South Central All-Region Team. Genesis Armendariz was named as a First Team honoree and Courtney Plocheck and JT Smith as Second Team honorees. The awards honor softball student-athletes from the Association's eight regions with first and second-team selections. NFCA member head coaches from each respective region nominated their student-athletes and voted for the teams. All the honorees are now eligible for selection to the 2024 NFCA Division II All-America squads. The 2024 NFCA Division II All-America teams will be announced at the NCAA Division II World Series Championship Banquet.
- The University of Texas at Tyler softball program placed six on the 2024 D2CCA All-South Central Region Teams as announced by the organization. Junior Christin Haygood was named to the D2CCA First Team All-South Central Region Team while Genesis ArmendarizNicole PriceCourtney PlocheckJT Smith and Sam Schott were named to the Second Team All-South Central Region Team. UT Tyler and Colorado Mesa tied for the most All-Region selections in the South Central Region. A total of 28 student-athletes were included in the first (14) and second (14) teams with 15 from the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference and 13 from the Lone Star Conference. Each member of the All-South Central Region first team moves on to be nominated for the D2CCA All-American teams to be released later this month. The D2CCA honors are nominated and voted on by sports information directors from the South Central Region which includes the LSC and RMAC.
- UT Tyler softball garnered a total of 20 All-Lone Star Conference Awards and three Special Awards as announced by the Lone Star Conference. Pitcher Christian Haygood was named the Lone Star Conference Newcomer of the Year, Makayla Garcia the Lone Star Conference Freshman of the Year and Sam Schott the Lone Star Conference Academic Player of the Year. UT Tyler placed six Patriots on the All-Lone Star Conference First Team List (Courtney PlocheckSam SchottJT SmithGenesis ArmendarizChristin HaygoodNicole Price) and four on the All-Lone Star Conference Second Team List (Michelle AriasAudrey EscamillaMakayla GarciaCassidi Mullen). Additionally, the Patriots earned three Lone Star Conference Golden Gloves (Nicole PriceJT SmithSam Schott). Crimson Bryant and Makayla Garcia were named to the All-Freshman Team, Sam Schott and Michelle Arias to the All-Academic Team and Nicole PriceJT Smith and Sam Schott earned Golden Gloves.
- UT Tyler stayed in the no. 3 slot for a second straight week in the latest NFCA Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll. The Patriots earned 364 total votes to stay put in what was an otherwise shaken up top five national poll heading into regional play. West Texas A&M regained the no. 1 overall position after winning the Lone Star Conference Softball Championship, while Indianapolis slid to no. 2 and Mississippi College and Pitt State separated into the no. 4 and no. 5 spots.
- UT Tyler ranks third in all of Division II softball with a .977 team fielding percentage and have set the UT Tyler softball program record with 25 double plays turned in 2024.
- The Patriots team ERA of 1.83 ranks 12th in all of Division II softball.
- UT Tyler has posted the third best on-base percentage (.432) in the country. The Patriots have drawn the 8th highest walk total (222) and lead the nation with 84 hit by pitches in 2024.
- The Patriot offense ranks 25th in Division II softball with 89 doubles and 7th in Division II softball with 21 triples. Those 21 triples are the highest single season total in the history of the UT Tyler softball program. UT Tyler ranks 17th in Division II with an average of 6.79 runs per game.
- Head coach Mike Reed and his staff garnered ATEC/NFCA South Central Regional Coaching Staff of the Year honors for a third consecutive season. The honors come in each of the first three complete seasons at the NCAA Division II level. Coach Reed and his staff have been named regional staff of the year by the NFCA on nine different occasions (2023, 2022, 2021, 2018, 2017, 2016, 2015, 2013, 2009) dating back to the program's inaugural season in 2005. 
- Head coach Mike Reed is in his 20th season at the helm of the program after previously serving for three seasons as the head coach at East Texas Baptist before taking over at UT Tyler. Reed ranks fourth among all NCAA divisions in career winning percentage (.831), posting a 909-182 career mark through 23 career seasons. He owns the second-highest all-time win percentage among Division III coaches, coaching 18 of his 20 seasons at the Division III level, and is a nine-time American Southwest Conference Coach of the Year, and seven-time NFCA Regional Coach of the Year. He has helped develop 36 All-Americans, 103 all-region and 162 all-conference selections and has led the UT Tyler program to the NCAA World Series in nine of the 13 years since the Patriots became postseason eligible in Division III.
