TYLER, TEXAS – The University of Texas at Tyler volleyball program earned a fourth straight AVCA Team Academic Award sponsored by INTENT as announced by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.
 
The award honors volleyball teams that maintain a year-long grade point average of 3.30 on a scale of 4.10 or a 5.0 scale. UT Tyler is one of over 1,400 collegiate and high school teams honored with the award that dates back to 1992-93.
 
"I am so proud of our team for earning this award again," head coach Lyndsay Mashe said. "Being a successful student and athlete takes dedication in all areas of your life and our players are a great example of that."
 
The 2023 season marked the third straight season that the Patriots earned a place at the NCAA Division II South Central Regional Tournament. They finished the season 17-12 overall and 11-5 in LSC play while posting four total All-Lone Star Conference selections.
