WHAT COACH WEBB IS SAYING
On her team's 2-0 start... "I think the atmosphere really gave us energy. The girls have been working really, really hard and I think you can see it in the way we're playing. There's a different belief system that's built into our team this year. And they trust the system so it was alot of fun for us this weekend. This senior group really has been through everything. We have been a really good team the last two years and on the verge of greatness. They've worked so hard in the offseason to really come together and use those experiences to create a great year. I think the adversity that we have been through the last couple of years has really molded them."
On using a few of those experienced players in different positions such as Natalie Jones... "We're trying a few different things in our pre-conference games. Natalie brings a ton to the game, so we're trying a few different things with her that we weren't able to do last year. We've also been able to do some different things with our shape and the way we want to play. For Natalie to have three goals in one weekend, I think it shows that trying some new things has paid off."
In the comfort her team has at home... "We really are trying to find our confidence. Last year we were on the road a ton, and that really is a challenge especially in a conference as tough as ours. So having this homestand to start the season allows us to build the confidence in the way that we play. Last year we were on the road at the beginning of the year and I think that was detrimental to our belief system, but this year starting out at home has started off so far, so good."
