RICHARDSON, TEXAS – UT Tyler men's soccer seniors
Luan Rangel and
Sid Cleofe have earned All-Lone Star Conference honors as announced by the LSC on Tuesday afternoon.
Luan Rangel has been named All-LSC Second Team for his dominant year offensively this year. The senior from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil has scored seven goals this year while adding two assists and one game winner. His seven goals are the most in the Division II era for the Patriots in one season, and he ranks third in the LSC in the category.
This is the highest All-LSC honor for the Patriots since Thierry Assamoi was named All-LSC First Team in 2021.
Sid Cleofe was named to the LSC All-Academic Team for the second consecutive season. Cleofe has helped anchor the Patriots at a variety of positions this year, appearing in all 18 games and making 14 starts while playing over 1,000 minutes.
He becomes the second player in program history to earn two LSC All-Academic nods, joining Sergio Sola who earned three straight from 2020-2022.
Rangel, Cleofe and the rest of the Patriots will take on #1 seed and #8 ranked Midwestern State on Wednesday at 5 p.m. in Wichita Falls, Texas in the semifinal round of the LSC Tournament.
The winner of that contest will advance into the LSC Championship to be played on Saturday at the highest remaining seed's home site.
