Seven Patriots Earn All-LSC Honors in Historic Season for Women’s Soccer

Seven Patriots collect LSC honors, setting new program record since joining the Lone Star Conference.

RICHARDSON, TEXAS – The UT Tyler women's soccer program made history on Wednesday afternoon, earning a program-record seven All-Lone Star Conference honors as announced by the league office.

Senior captain Brooke Mullins earned her second consecutive LSC All-Academic honor for her excellence both on the field and in the classroom. The Burleson, Texas native, a Management major, has been a leader for the Patriots all season, scoring three goals, adding an assist, and tallying one game-winner in 855 minutes of play.

Natalie Jones and Melissa Oliveira were each named to the All-LSC Second Team. Jones, a senior captain from Kansas City, Kansas, has started all 18 matches, logging 1,236 minutes while posting five goals and three assists—both ranking second on the team. She has also placed over 60 percent of her shots on target this season. Oliveira earned her first career All-LSC recognition after an impressive campaign that saw her record 13 points, six goals (tied for the team lead), one assist, and three game-winning goals.

Ella Anderson and Gabrielle Wiebe each collected All-LSC Third Team honors. Anderson, a sophomore, has been one of UT Tyler's most dynamic offensive players this season, tying for the team lead with six goals while adding a team-high four assists and 16 total points. She has started all 18 matches, totaling 1,061 minutes and three game-winners. Wiebe, a defensive standout, anchored the Patriot back line while leading the team in minutes played (1,540). The senior started all 18 matches and also contributed offensively with one goal and one assist en route to her first career All-LSC selection.

Rounding out the historic list of honorees, Larixsa Plascencia and Samantha White were named to the LSC All-Freshman Team. Plascencia, from San Antonio, Texas, has started 16 of 17 matches, playing 928 minutes while scoring one goal on 13 shots. White has been a steady force on the defensive side, starting every game as a freshman and logging 1,517 minutes—the second-most on the team—while helping the Patriots record 10 shutouts this season.

These all-conference standouts and the rest of the Patriots will face No. 1 seed and nationally top-ranked DBU on Thursday at 5 p.m. in Dallas, Texas, in the semifinal round of the LSC Tournament.

The winner of that match will advance to the LSC Championship, scheduled for Sunday at 1 p.m. in Dallas.
