Davis Named LSC Offensive Player of the Week

RICHARDSON, TEXAS – UT Tyler freshman forward Leila Davis has been named the Lone Star Conference Offensive Player of the Week after a monster game against St. Edward's on Saturday.

Davis went 9-for-15 from the field with a three pointer and six free throws to score 25 points and then added in 12 rebounds, four assists, and two steals to spur the Patriots to a dramatic overtime win over the Hilltoppers. She also scored six of the 10 Patriots points in that overtime period to push them to the big win.

Davis's 25 points and 12 rebounds were each game-high marks as well as career-high marks in her young career in a Patriots uniform.

The win snapped a five-game winning streak for St. Edward's and moved the Patriots to a 2-1 record in LSC play and 6-4 overall.

Davis is the second LSC Player of the Week winner of the year for the Patriots, joining Mileina Sablinskaite who won the Defensive Player of the Week award back on November 11th. Davis is the first offensive winner for the Patriots since Ella Bradley won the award on December 22nd of 2024.
