Patriots Earn 13 All-LSC Outdoor Track and Field Awards

RICHARDSON, TEXAS – UT Tyler track and field earned 13 All-Lone Star Conference awards as announced by the conference on Thursday.
 
Isabel Jakobsen earned a pair of honors, earning spot on both the LSC All-Academic Team and the All-LSC Third Team. Jakobsen earned six total points for the week, placing fourth in the 100 meter hurdles and eighth in the 400 meter hurdles. This is her first academic team nod in her career.
 
Brandon Arenas also earned an All-Academic Team nod and was also an All-LSC First Team selection. Arenas was the LSC Champion in the 110 meter hurdles, earning his first gold medal at the conference meet. The academic team nod is also his second of this year, joining his LSC Indoor Academic Team honor.
 
Ashton Turner also picked up both an All-Academic Team nod and an All-LSC First Team honor. Turner joins Arenas in earning Academic Team honors in both the indoor and outdoor seasons. He placed third in the 110 meter hurdles, second in the 400 meter hurdles, and was a part of the 4x400 meter relay team that placed third.
 
Jackson Crysup would be the final All-Academic Team nod for the Patriots. That honor is the first of his career in his first season of eligibility. Crysup was also an All-LSC Second Team honoree, earning his points via a second place finish in the 4x100 meter relay and a third place finish in the 4x400 meter relay.
 
Dylan Bennett was named an All-LSC First Team honoree, joining his first team nod from the indoor season. Bennett placed third in the 100 meters, second in the 200 meters, and was a part of the second place 4x100 meter relay team.
 
Landon Smith earned the first All-LSC nod of his career, earning a second team honor after scoring 12 points. Smith placed fifth in the 100 meters, third in the 200 meters, and was also a part of the second place 4x100 meter relay team.
 
Andy Tunstall joined the second team honorees, earning his first ever All-LSC honor. Tunstall had a big week in the throwing events, placing third in the discus and seventh in the hammer throw.
 
The final men's second team nod went to Nicholas Davis, who earned his spot via being a part of the second place finish in the men's 4x100 relay.
 
Bracie Vaughn would join Jakobsen in the women's honorees, picking up an All-LSC second team nod. Vaughn earned eight points for the week, all of which coming in a second place finish in the women's 100 meter hurdles.
 
William Davis earned an All-LSC Third Team honor for the Patriots as he earned his placement via a seventh place finish in the 400 meters and then running the anchor leg in the third place 4x400 meter relay team.
 
Caleb Williams earned the final All-LSC nod for the Patriots, earning his spot via the aforementioned third place 4x400 meter relay team.
