INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA – UT Tyler softball has earned the #1 seed at the NCAA Division II World Series and will face off with #8 seed Western Washington in their first round matchup on May 22
nd at 11 a.m. eastern time.
The first round matchup will be a rematch of the 2024 NCAA Division II World Series championship series, in which the Patriots swept that series with wins of 3-0 and 10-1 to earn their first NCAA Division II National Championship in program history.
The championship will be conducted at Frost Stadium at Warner Park in Chattanooga, Tennessee May 22 through 28.
The winner of that first round matchup between #1 seed UT Tyler and #8 seed Western Washington will face off with the winner of #4 seed North Georgia and #5 Saginaw Valley in game five of the bracket on May 23
rd at noon eastern time.
The other side of the bracket features #2 seed Tampa vs. #7 seed Shippensburg and #3 seed Central Oklahoma vs. #6 seed Pace.
UT Tyler will enter their fourth straight Division II World Series at a record of 57-5 overall. They claimed a share of their fifth straight LSC Regular Season title and their second LSC Tournament title in program history earlier this season.
This will be their 11
th NCAA World Series Appearance. Seven of those came at the Division III level, with the program winning the 2016 Division III National Championship. The Patriots have now made the NCAA Division II World Series in each of the four years they have been eligible, and earned the 2024 Division II National Championship.
