PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

Sydney Linn and Kendall Selitzky were pivotal last week in helping the Patriots go 4-0, including a sweep of then #1 West Texas A&M on the road followed by another sweep of Eastern New Mexico.

Linn earned LSC Hitter of the Week honors after going .454 over the four games with a double, triple, homer, six runs, and seven RBI. She had the go-ahead two RBI single in game one against West Texas A&M, and then barreled a three run blast in game two against the Greyhounds.

Selitzky was electric in the circle in both of her starts to earn LSC Pitcher of the Week honors. She threw a complete game shutout against the Lady Buffs, scattering seven hits and striking out seven while shutting them out for the first time this season. Against the Greyhounds, she added nine strikeouts in just five innings and one hit to pick up another win.

RANKED AGAIN

With their big week, the Patriots have climbed back into the NFCA Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll at #25. This is their first entrance into the poll in the regular season and first since being ranked #1 in the preseason edition of the rankings that came out in January.

THE LSC STANDINGS

With last week's 4-0 week for the Patriots and now Thursday's results behind them, the Patriots are now tied for the top spot in the LSC standings at 24-4 with West Texas A&M. Just a half game behind is Oklahoma Christian at 25-5, who has played two more games than the top two teams.

Angelo State and Texas A&M-Kingsville wrap up the top five, and Texas Woman's, St. Mary's, Lubbock Christian, and Cameron would make up the LSC tournament field if the season ended today.

A NEW FACE

This season marks the first in UT Tyler program history that Mike Reed will not be at the helm. Reed announced his departure into a full-time athletics administration role within the UT Tyler athletic department in January, and in his place will be interim head coach Jason Miller.

Miller joined the program in the summer of 2025 after an eight year stint at Grayson College and a one year run at Oklahoma Baptist. He helped guide the Bison to their first ever appearance in the GAC Championship game this past season after going 36-17 overall. At Grayson College, Miller spurred the Vikings to a 104-24 record in his last four seasons and two appearances at the NJCAA World Series, including a runner-up finish in 2021.
