LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY – UT Tyler softball is the unanimous #1 in the final regular season edition of the NFCA/Go Rout Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll as released on Tuesday.
The Patriots garnered all 16 first place votes after taking down West Texas A&M last week to earn their second LSC Tournament title in program history after previously claiming their fifth straight LSC Regular Season title.
#2 Francis Marion, #3 West Texas A&M, #4 Central Oklahoma, and #5 Tampa close out the top five in this weeks poll. #8 Angelo State, #21 Oklahoma Christian, and RV Lubbock Christian represent the remainder of the LSC teams in this week's rankings.
Heading into the NCAA Tournament, the Patriots are number one in Division II in hit by pitches, on-base percentage, triples, and win-loss percentage. They are also ranked inside the top five in ERA, RBI, shutouts, total runs, triples per game, WHIP, RBI per game, scoring, slugging percentage, total sacrifice flies, doubles, and batting average.
UT Tyler is set to host the NCAA South Central Regional Tournament this week, kicking off on Thursday as they host #8 seed MSU Denver in their opening round game. That game is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. at Irwin Field.
