LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY – The UT Tyler softball coaching staff has earned the 2025 ATEC/NFCA DII National Coaching Staff of the Year honor for the second straight season.

Anthony Springer helped lead the Patriots to their second straight NCAA Division II National Championship and a dominant 62-5 record.
UT Tyler took down Tampa 2-0 in the championship series, becoming the first team to shut out their opponent in both games of the series since its inception in 2016.
The Patriots are the first team since California (Pa.) in 1997-1998 to go back-to-back in Division II softball. They finished 10-1 in their postseason run this year and are 20-1 in their last two seasons, including two 5-0 records at the World Series.
This is the third national coaching staff of the year award for the Patriots in program history, now earning the honor in 2016, 2024, and 2025. The Patriots also earned their fifth straight South Central Region Coaching Staff of the Year award and 11
th overall.
The coaching staff will be recognized at the 2025 NFCA Convention in Las Vegas this December.
