LAST TIME OUT

Last week, the UT Tyler women's soccer team hit the road in Oklahoma and returned to Tyler with a perfect 2-0 record. The Patriots opened their season at Rogers State in Claremore, where all three of their goals came in the second half of a 3-1 victory. Brooke Mullins netted the team's first goal of the year off an assist from Ella Anderson, and just seven minutes later Melissa Oliveira doubled the lead. Oliveira capped the night with her second goal in the 86th minute to seal the win. UT Tyler then traveled to Seminole to face East Central, where a strong defensive effort from Emily Clark and Robbi Curry kept the hosts off the board. Anderson converted a penalty kick in the 23rd minute for the lone goal, giving the Patriots a 1-0 win to close out the trip.

PATS STATS

Through the opening weekend, Melissa Oliveira leads the Patriots with four points, recording a team-best two goals on four shots — all of which were on target. Both Oliveira and Ella Anderson have tallied a game-winner, while Anderson also holds the team's lone assist. Offensively, UT Tyler has generated 26 shots with 16 on goal across their first 180 minutes, good for a 62% on-target rate. On the defensive side, Gabrielle Wiebe has been a steady anchor, logging a team-high 180 minutes across both matches. In goal, Emily Clark has seen the bulk of the action with 160 minutes, posting a 2-0 record while allowing just one goal and making four saves.
