HAWAIIAN NIGHT PRESENTED BY UT HEALTH EASY TEXAS
 

The Patriots will have Hawaiian Night on Thursday night as they host Lubbock Christian inside the HPC. There will be 500 Hawaiian shirts given away along with a student tailgate beginning at 4 p.m. and free food. Additionally, the ZOOperstars will be performing at halftime of the women's and men's game.
 
FIRST RESPONDERS / MILITARY APPRECIATION NIGHT
 
On Saturday, UT Tyler will host First Responders/Military Appreciation Night with all military personnel and first responders receiving free admission. There will be retired members of the United States Marines serving as honorary captains for each game, as well as in game promotions during both games.
 
THE LSC RACE
 
Both West Texas A&M and Texas Woman's hold the top spot in the LSC at 9-0, with Eastern New Mexico and UT Tyler right behind at 8-1. Lubbock Christian is 7-2 and alone in fifth, with UT Permian Basin, Texas A&M International, and St. Mary's holding what would be the final three spots in the LSC Tournament.
 
PATRIOTS NOTES AND TRENDS
  • UT Tyler finished the 2024-25 season 25-5 overall and made their third consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance before bowing out in the first round.
  • Last season the Patriots finished 13-1 on their home floor, raising their mark to 61-8 under head coach Rebecca Alvidrez inside the Herrington Patriot Center prior to the 2025-26 season.
  • In the last four seasons (including 2024-25), the Patriots are a combined 31-13 in non-conference matchups, including a 12-3 record at home in non-conference games.
  • Head Coach Rebecca Alvidrez is now 119-56 all time in her four season career, and she is 110-37 in her time at UT Tyler.
  • Coach Alvidrez won her 100th career game on January 30th, 2025 as the Patriots took down Cameron. It took just 148 games for Alvidrez to reach the milestone, and she is now in her fifth season as a head coach.
  • Alvidrez won her 100th game at UT Tyler on November 14th, 2025 as the Patriots took down CSU Pueblo. She took 133 games to reach the feat and is the winningest coach in UT Tyler program history.
  • The Patriots will bring back just five players, including All-LSC Honorable Mention player Polina Latysheva, along with Mileina SablinskaiteMariah NealKK Bass, and Zionna Barbee.
  • Joining the Patriots will be freshman newcomers Leila DavisHayley CummingMackenzie MitchellGeorgia TomkinsEdit MerivirtaAvery AlcarazJorja Hart, and Salome Svani. The transfer class includes Lilli Hakkarainen and Nikolina Vukcevic as they all look to make a big impact on the Patriots this season.
  • The Patriots are 12-6 through 18 games and are 8-1 in LSC play, scoring 59.3 points per game on 38.1% shooting and 29% from beyond the arc. They are holding opponents to just 49.4 points per game on 36.2% shooting and 29.8% from deep.
  • That staunch defense is one of the best in Division II, ranking 1st in scoring defense, 14th in steals per game, 12th in turnover margin, and 15th in turnovers forced per game.
  • Hayley Cumming leads the team at 10.2 points per game on 38.1% shooting and leads the team in blocks, total three pointers, and is second in assists. Leila Davis is scoring 9.9 points per game on 48.8% shooting while leading the team at 5.5 rebounds per game and adding 26 steals and 27 assists.
 
THE LADY CHAPS
 
Lubbock Christian will head to the HPC on Thursday night ranked #15 in the latest WBCA Poll and 15-3 overall and 7-2 in LSC play. They are 2-2 in their last four games, with losses to then #7 West Texas A&M and then (RV) St. Mary's.
 
The Lady Chaps are scoring 68.6 points per game on 44.8% shooting from the field and 38.6% from beyond the arc. Their opponents are scoring 59.7 points per game on 37.6% from the field and 31.2% from deep. Individually, Kennedy Chappell and Meg Meekins are leading the offense at 16.8 and 14.8 points per game. Chappell is shooting 54.8% from the field while grabbing 5.7 rebounds per game and adding 70 assists. Meekings is leading the team in three pointers with 37 total on 40.2% shooting from deep.
 
Lubbock Christian leads the all-time series at 5-3. The Lady Chaps took the most recent meeting last season, but the Patriots won the previous three. In matchups in Tyler, the Lady Chaps are 5-1.
 
THE MUSTANGS
 
Midwestern State is 4-10 overall and 1-7 in LSC play so far this year and have now dropped their last five contests, all in LSC competition. Their last win came against Sacred Heart (P.R.) on December 19th and their only LSC win of the year came against Angelo State on December 3rd.
 
The Mustangs are scoring 63.4 points per game and allowing 63.4 points per game to their opponents. They are shooting 32.4% from the floor and 25% from deep while allowing opponents to shoot 42.7% from the floor and 31% from deep. Individually, Kerbie Cash leads the team at 15.8 points per game on 36.6% shooting while totaling 27 steals and 7.5 rebounds per game.
 
UT Tyler holds a 6-5 advantage in the all-time series that dates back to 2018. In the series, the Mustangs won the first five matchups, but UT Tyler has now won six straight, including four in Tyler.
