LAST TIME OUT
UT Tyler women's soccer continued their incredible offensive run at Citizens First Bank-Perkins Soccer Complex as the Patriots scored twice in the opening 16 minutes to take down St. Edward's.
Celine Diaz drove the ball into the Hilltoppers' penalty area at the eight and half minute mark. A failed clearance opened up some room for
Ella Anderson who sent a missile from just outside of the box to the top right corner of the net past the keeper to start the scoring for UT Tyler. Anderson was the one to help create the second goal as well, sending a cross pitch pass to
Celine Diaz, who used a nice move to separate from the defender before sending a low line drive off her boot into the back of the net to give UT Tyler a 2-0 lead. The score was Diaz's second of the season as assist was Anderson picked up her first assist. The Patriots would then head to Denton to take on No. 12 Texas Woman's University. The game was moved to Denton Guyer High School due to weather and both teams battled all night on a smaller pitch. The Patriots nearly took the lead in the opening minutes of the game when Anderson earned a penalty chance after a foul in the penalty box. However, the Patriots leading scorer was turned away by the Pioneer goalkeeper. The match stayed scoreless through halftime as
Robbi Curry came up with a key penalty-kick save early in the second half. However, the Pioneers would use two more penalty kicks to take the lead as they handed UT Tyler just their second loss in conference play.
