Golden, CO – The UT Tyler Men's Soccer offense started fast in their game against the Colorado School of Mines. The Patriots had 9 shots, 5 on goal in the first half while holding the Miners to just a single corner kick. They would finish the game with the advantage on shots (15-7) and corner kicks (7-2).
UT Tyler put the first goal on the board in the 28
th minute thanks to one of their sophomore defenders as
Landon Neely's low shot got past the goalie to give his team the lead.
The Patriots offensive attack didn't slow down as they doubled their lead just 5 minutes later.
Carson Stiglets's shot would be saved but the Miners goalie was unable to contain it and
Azael Ochoa was able to put the rebound in the back of the net on a low stinger.
The second half was milder but in the 87
th minute, a foul in the box would give the Patriots a penalty shot, and
Jaime Casado would capitalize as he put the Patriots up 3 late in the contest. UT Tyler added a couple new names to the scorebook as both Neely and Ochoa scored their first goals of 2026, while Stiglets secured the first assists of his career.

Beaux Benson only needed to make one save as the Patriots back line that limited the Miners to just 7 shots overall.
The win brings UT Tyler's record to 2-0-1 on the season. Colorado School of Mines moves to 0-4-1. The Patriots will continue their road trip on Saturday as they square off against Colorado Christian.
