UT Tyler women's soccer battled the #3 DBU on the road, as the two teams fought for all 90 minutes. The Patriots kept up with their nationally ranked rival the entire match, despite an early goal from DBU. The Patriots' best attacking threat came from Ella Anderson, who led all UT Tyler players with three shots, two of which were on goal. It was the first loss in Lone Star Conference Play for the Patriots but it wouldn't take long for them to get back in the win column. UT Tyler was back home as Citizens 1st Bank-Perkins Soccer Complex hosting their Senior Day. Robbi Curry, Addie Russu, Hadley Carpenter, and Nicoline Veasey were honored pregame for their contributions to the Women's Soccer program. After being kept out of the net earlier in the week, UT Tyler didn't waste any time getting on the scoreboard, taking the lead in just the 2nd minute of the contest. Ava Harris would take advantage of a great cross from Celine Diaz, as the sophomore found the back of the net, putting the Patriots up 1-0. Later in the first half, Samantha White scored her first goal of the year off a header after a UT Tyler corner kick bounced around in the box and landed right in front of the Patriot defender. Lily Moreno would wrap up the scoring with an impressive goal in the top right corner after being substituted into the game 15 minutes into the second half.

Through the first five weeks, Danica Anaya and Ella Anderson continue to lead the Patriots with three goals each and 6 points overall. Anderson also holds the team lead in game-winning goals with one. The Patriots have been sharing the love this season, with 12 different players picking up an assist or goal. At season's end, Natalie Jones and Melissa Oliveira earned All-Lone Star Conference Second Team honors, while Ella Anderson and Gabrielle Wiebe were named to the All-Lone Star Conference Third Team. Larixsa Plascencia and Samantha White showed the future is bright with both earning Lone Star Conference All-Freshman Team honors.
- Ella Anderson led the Patriots in both points (16), goals (6), and tied for the team lead in assists (4).
- Head coach Stefani Webb is in her 22nd season at the helm of the program. Coach Webb is 225-105-43 (.661) in her tenure as head coach of the Patriots and sits 315-151-50 (.659) overall.

ABOUT ST. EDWARD'S UNIVERSITY
St. Edward's is off to a 1-5-3 start and is 1-2-2 in conference play. Their lone victory of the season was against West Texas A&M at home when they won 2-0. The Hilltoppers finished last season 7-10-3 overall and 6-6-2 in LSC play. Through their first nine matches, the Hilltoppers offense has collected seven goals while conceding 14. Since the Lone Star Conference series began in 2019, UT Tyler has a 2-1-3 record against St. Edward's with their last matchup ending in a 0-0 draw.

Texas Women's University started the year on fire winning their first nine contests. However, the Pioneers dropped their first game last week, falling to Midwestern State 1-0/. TWU sits one game about the Patriots in the Lone Star Conference standings heading into this week so the teams will be battling for position when they take the pitch this weekend.
