NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS – Freshman
Juliane Frueh posted an NCAA Division II provisional mark in the heptathlon and five Patriots posted school records at the Carl Kight Invitational on Friday night in Nacogdoches.
Frueh totaled 4,791 points in the heptathlon on Friday afternoon, the 12
th highest point total in the event in Division II this spring. Freuh also joined four other Patriots with school record marks after tossing a UT Tyler record 37.81 meters in the javelin throw.
Sophomore
Elayna Metzger and freshman
Jacob Berryhill each notched school records in their respective 3,000 meter steeplechase races. Metzger finished ninth with a record time of 11:38.19, while Berryhill bettered his time in the event by 18 seconds to finish second with a time of 9:20.17.
Freshman
Finley Hunting and
David Soto each added a second school record to their resume on Friday night in their respective 5,000 meter races. Hunting finished seventh with a record time of 18:27.80 and Soto a third-place finish with a time of 14:23.35.
Hunting holds the UT Tyler outdoor record in both the 5,000 and 10,000 meter races and Soto in both the 1,500 meter and 5,000 meter races as well.
Freshman
Zoey Broaddus and
Kendall Daniels got the highlighted performances for the Patriots started in the women's 1,500 meter run. Broaddus improved her personal best by eight seconds with a time of 5:10.66, while Daniels improved nearly 32 seconds over her previous best with a time of 5:12.84.
Saturday's action will get started tomorrow morning at 11 a.m. for the final day of the Carl Kight Invitational.
