TYLER, TEXAS – UT Tyler women's track and field has been on a roll in the outdoor season, and have vaulted themselves up to #14 in the latest USTFCCCA National Track and Field Rating Index as released on Tuesday.
Joining the Patriots from the LSC in the rating is #2 West Texas A&M and #4 Angelo State.
The Patriots have put together a massive start to the outdoor year, posting several top marks and putting several athletes into NCAA provisional marks.
Leading that charge has been
Aerin Thompson, who holds provisional marks in the heptathlon, 200 meters, 400 meters, high jump, long jump, and is a member of the 4x400 relay team that holds a provisional mark.
Joining her is
Jasmine Haywood and
Kamaria Carr in the 800, both of whom are on the 4x400 relay team.
Abeni Kratzmeyer adds a mark in the pole vault,
Brooklyn House in the discus, and
Juliane Frueh in the high jump.
Isabel Jakobsen also joins the 4x400 relay team.
Of all of those marks, the 4x400 relay team holds the best mark, posting the second best time in Division II at 3:40.25. Thompson has the fourth best heptathlon mark at 5,383, and also the eighth best 200 time and ninth best 400 meter time.
UT Tyler now looks ahead to their next meet, the Carl Kight Invitational and Multi hosted by Stephen F. Austin this weekend. Following that meet, the Patriots will round out their regular season at the Alumni Muster hosted by Texas A&M on April 20
th before the LSC Championships on May 9-11.
