Thompson, Frueh, Women’s 4x400 Relay Earn NCAA National Qualification

TYLER, TEXAS – UT Tyler women's track and field will send five total athletes to the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships as announced on Tuesday afternoon by the NCAA.
 
Juliane Frueh will take part in the women's high jump competition after putting together the seventh highest jump across Division II during the season at 1.75 meters. That mark came at the Lone Star Conference Outdoor Championships, where she took the top spot.
 
Joining Frueh in the individual events is Aerin Thompson, who has earned a spot in both the 200 and 400 meter events. Thompson posted the 18th fastest time in Division II in the 200 meters, running a 23.54 at the David Noble Relays. She stacked on an even faster time in the 400, posting the fifth best mark in Division II after running a 53.02 at the Lone Star Conference Outdoor Championships.
 
Thompson will also take part in the 4x400 relay, where she is joined by teammates Kamaria Carr, Jasmine Haywood, and Isabel Jakobsen. The quartet ran the ninth fastest time in Division II in the 4x400 relay, a mark of 3:40.25 at the Bobcat Invitational.
 
This is the third straight season that the Patriots will have at least one athlete compete at the NCAA Outdoor Championships,
 
The NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships are set to take place on May 23-25 at Welch Stadium in Emporia, Kansas. The Patriots will begin their competition on Thursday, as Thompson will run in the preliminary round of the 400 meters. On Friday, Thompson will run in the preliminary round of the 200 meters, and then the Patriots 4x400 relay team will run in the preliminary round in the final event of the evening on Friday.
 
Saturday will see all of the final rounds of the running events, as well as Frueh, who competes in the women's high jump.
