RICHARDSON, TEXAS – UT Tyler men's soccer has been selected to finish 7^th in the Lone Star Conference Preseason Poll as announced on Tuesday.
 
The preseason poll and preseason players of the year are voted on by LSC head coaches, sports information directors and media members.
 
Defending LSC champion Midwestern State has been selected to defend their title, collecting 338 points and 16 of the possible 33 first place votes. They were followed by St. Mary's, St. Edward's, DBU, and West Texas A&M to round out the top five.
 
The Patriots earned 161 total points in the poll to place themselves seventh.
 
Arthur Souza (St. Edward's), Luke Mulkey (St. Mary's), and Johny Thurbin (St. Mary's) were selected to win the LSC Offensive, Defensive, and Goalkeeper of the Year awards, respectively.
 
Additionally, Oscar Sosa and William Kenne were selected to the Offensive and Defensive Players to Watch.
 
The Patriots season gets underway on September 4^th as they host DBU at Citizens 1^st Bank-Perkins Soccer Complex in non-conference play. Their first LSC matchup will also be against DBU, taking place on October 1 on the road.
