LAST TIME OUT
Last week the Patriots battled their way to an eighth place finish, shooting rounds of 290, 309, and 297 at Old Waverly GC in West Point, Mississippi. Three Patriots finished in the top 25, led by freshman
Preston Chabaud as he finished at two over par for the week. The finish booked a second straight top 10 to start the year.
EARLY RECOGNITION
UT Tyler remains in the receiving votes category of the Bushnell/Golfweek DII Coaches Poll after the first in-season rankings dropped on September 19. The Patriots are joined by #8 Oklahoma Christian, #17 St. Mary's, #25 Midwestern State, (RV) West Texas A&M and (RV) DBU in the first rankings of the regular season.
THE DII SHOOTOUT AT RIVIERA MAYA
This week's tournament will be hosted by Western New Mexico at Tulum C.C. at PGA Riviera Maya, one of the top courses in Mexico. The course played host to the Tulum Championship on the Korn Ferry Tour in May and was named the best golf course in Mexico at the 2024 World Golf Awards.
The event will see 54 holes take place over three days beginning on Sunday and culminating on Tuesday. The first two rounds will be tee times on Sunday and Monday before a shotgun start on Tuesday.
The Patriots will face off against a 15 team field, with 14 of those 15 being either in the South Central or West Region, providing an early opportunity to see where the Patriots stack up.
