Leila Davis has been named the Lone Star Conference Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season.
The freshman hailing from Melbourne, Australia put up a monster effort on Thursday to help the Patriots upset #15 Lubbock Christian. She is the first player since
Tina Machalova in the 2023-2024 season to win the LSC Offensive Player of the Week honor twice in the same season.
Davis put up a game-high 25 points on Thursday night, shooting an efficient 61% on 11-for-18 shooting while adding three free throws. She chipped in 11 total rebounds, five of which were on the offensive glass, leading to her third double-double of the season. She also chipped in two assists and two steals to help the Patriots to the big ranked win.
She now ranks 22
nd in the LSC in points per game, sixth in field goal percentage, and 17
th in rebounds per game.
Davis and the Patriots face off with #6 West Texas A&M on Thursday night at 5:30 p.m. and Eastern New Mexico on Saturday at 2 p.m. Both of those games will be on the road.
