RICHARDSON, TEXAS – UT Tyler women's basketball will take the No. 3 seed into the Lone Star Conference Tournament that will take place March 6
th through 8
th as announced Saturday evening.
No. 3 seed UT Tyler will take on No. 6 seed Angelo State in the opening match of the women's tournament on March 6
th at 12 p.m. This will be the second matchup of the season between the two teams, with the Patriots taking a 45-42 win on the road back on January 2
nd.
This is the fifth straight LSC Tournament appearance for UT Tyler, one for all five seasons of Division II eligibility. This will be the third time the Patriots are the No. 3 seed.
UT Tyler finished the season 20-9 overall and 16-4 in conference play, closing the year on a three game winning streak as they head into postseason play.
The winner of the LSC Women's Basketball Championship will be named the league's tournament champion and earn the league's automatic qualification to the 2026 NCAA Division II Women's Basketball South Central Regional, set for March 13-16 at a site to be determined. The winner of the South Central Regional will advance to the Elite 8, which will be held March 24-28 at UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse in Pittsburg, Pa.
