RICHARDSON, TEXAS – UT Tyler freshman Lucy Kate Smith has been named the Lone Star Conference Women's Golfer of the Week for the second time this season after another medalist honor at the Emerald Coast Collegiate.
 
Smith, a freshman from Prosper, Texas, claimed the individual champion honor at the event at the Sandestin Resort & Club after finishing with a three round total of 212 (-1). She won the tournament by a single shot, using a final round 71 that included a stretch of one under par over her final eight holes.
 
This is Smith's second individual win of her career, following in the footsteps of her victory at The Southern Invite back on February 17^th, where she won by two shots.
 
The Patriots would also claim the team title at the event, their second of the spring, taking an 11 shot win over the 17 team field that featured nine teams ranked inside the top 50 of the Scoreboard rankings.
 
Smith and the Patriots now head to Carmel, California for The Patriot Invitational hosted by DBU. They will play Quail Lodge Golf Club on March 16-17^th.
