CARMEL, CALIFORNIA – UT Tyler women's golf finished fourth at the Patriot Invite at Quail Lodge Golf Club after a final round 306 on Tuesday.
The Patriots slipped two spots on the team leaderboard, but took a head-to-head win over #3 Anderson and four other teams ranked inside the top 50 in the Scoreboard Rankings.
This is the program's eighth straight top five finish of the 2025-26 season and 15
th consecutive dating back to their second event of the 2024-25 season.
The Patriots final round efforts were led by
Karina Duran and
Arnie Taguines, who posted matching scores of 75. Duran's round featured a pair of birdies to counter six bogeys, allowing her to finish as runner up on the individual leaderboard for the week. Taguines made one birdie and 13 pars in her effort, moving her up four places into a solo 22
nd finish.
Scores were rounded out on Tuesday by
Lucy Kate Smith and
Martha Laremark, who shot rounds of 77 and 79. The pair each made one birdie and 10 total pars on the day. Smith joined Duran in the top 10 with a tie for ninth, and Laremark finished in a tie for 45
th.
Emmerson Doyle posted an 85 in the final round, also tying with Laremark for the week in 45
th on the individual leaderboard.
UT Tyler ranked second in the field in both par three scoring average and total birdies. Duran led the field in total birdies, and Taguines finished second in total pars.
The Patriots now get a much-needed two week break before taking on the RJGA Palm Valley Classic in Goodyear, Arizona. That event will be April 2
nd and 3
rd at Palm Valley Golf Club.
