SAN ANGELO, TEXAS – The UT Tyler track and field program continued its strong outdoor campaign with a standout showing at the David Noble Relays, highlighted by a record-breaking performance in the women's heptathlon and multiple top-five finishes.
Leading the way for the Patriots was Juliane Frueh in the women's multi, as she delivered a historic performance to place third overall against a competitive field that included athletes from Kansas State. Frueh tallied a program-record 5,443 points across the seven events, marking one of the top performances in school history.
She opened the heptathlon with a sixth-place finish in the 100-meter hurdles before surging with a pair of second-place finishes in the high jump and shot put. Frueh added a fifth-place mark in the 200 meters and a sixth-place finish in the long jump before closing strong on day two. She took second in the javelin and capped off the meet with a first-place finish in the 800 meters to secure her podium spot and the school record.
In the field events, Jada Owens turned in a solid performance in the women's shot put, placing sixth overall with a throw of 13.21 meters. On the men's side, Kaden Adams led the way with an impressive runner-up finish in the shot put, recording a mark of 16.15 meters to claim second place.
Maren Ware added another top-five finish for the Patriots in the women's triple jump, placing fifth overall with a leap of 10.97 meters.
The meet will resume Saturday with field events beginning at 12:30 p.m. with the women's hammer throw, while track events get underway at the same time with the women's 100-meter hurdles.
