FRISCO, TEXAS – UT Tyler women's basketball garnered another strong list of Lone Star Conference accolades as announced at the annual year-end banquet on Wednesday night.
Mariah Neal, a senior from Nacogdoches, Texas, has earned the LSC Sixth Woman of the Year award. She becomes the second Patriots player to earn the honor, joining former teammate Tina Machalova in the 2022-23 season. Neal was elite on both sides of the ball this season, scoring 7.4 points per game on 44.9% shooting while also grabbing 62 steals, fourth most in the Lone Star Conference. This is her first ever LSC accolade.
Leila Davis was named to the All-LSC Second Team and the All-Freshman Team. The Melbourne, Australia native led the Patriots in points per game at 12.3 on 50.4% shooting while also grabbing 5.5 rebounds per game and adding 45 assists and 40 steals. She ranked 14
th in the LSC in points per game and fifth in field goal percentage during the regular season.
Polina Latysheva joins Davis with an All-LSC Second Team nod, joining an Honorable Mention nod from last season. Latysheva averaged 9.9 points per game and led the team in both assists and steals with 99 and 69. Both of those totals rank second in the Lone Star Conference this season.
Hayley Cumming was named to the All-LSC Honorable Mention team and the All-Freshman Team. The Mont Albert, Australia native scored 9.7 points per game during the regular season while leading the team in total three pointers made and blocks, and ranked second in assists. Her 33 total blocks rank seventh in the LSC this season.
Davis and Cumming are the third and fourth players for UT Tyler to earn an All-Freshman Team honor, and it is the first time two players made it in the same season for the Patriots.
The Patriots have earned the No. 3 seed in the LSC Tournament and will take on No. 6 seed Angelo State on Friday at 12 p.m. in the first round at the Comerica Center in Frisco, Texas.
