Martha Laremark and Lucy Kate Smith earned Academic and Freshman of the Year honors in the LSC

Laremark Top Academic, Smith Top Freshman, Patriots Tally Five All-LSC Honors

ROCKWALL, TEXAS – UT Tyler women's golf earned five honors at the Lone Star Conference Women's Golf awards banquet on Sunday, led by Martha Laremark being named Academic Player of the Year and Lucy Kate Smith earning Freshman of the Year.
 
Martha Laremark, a senior mechanical engineering major, has earned the Lone Star Conference Academic Player of the Year award, the first in program history. Laremark is a three time member of the WGCA All-American Scholar team, and was also a member of the 2025 LSC All-Academic Team.
 
Additionally, Laremark booked a spot on the All-Lone Star Conference First Team, the first such honor of her career. She was previously named All-LSC Honorable Mention back in 2024. Laremark this year is currently ranked #24 in the latest Scoreboard rankings, and is #7 in the West Region. She has an adjusted scoring average of 73.4, and has three top three finishes.
 
Lucy Kate Smith, hailing from Prosper, Texas, has earned the Lone Star Conference Freshman of the Year award, also the first in program history. Smith also garnered All-Lone Star Conference First Team honors with her play. She has a pair of individual titles this season, coming at The Southern Invite and the Emerald Coast Classic. She is ranked #50 nationally and #12 in the region and has four top 10 placements.
 
Arnie Taguines joined both Laremark and Smith in earning All-Lone Star Conference First Team honors. This is her third such award in four seasons as she was also a first team member in both 2025 and 2023. She is ranked #38 nationally and #9 in the region. She has an adjusted scoring average of 73.6 and has collected five top 10 finishes this season.
 
Karina Duran was selected as a member of the All-Lone Star Conference Second Team, the second straight season she has earned that honor. Duran is ranked #56 nationally and #15 regionally. She has a 74.6 adjusted scoring average and three top three finishes this season.
 
The Patriots will now take on the Lone Star Conference Championship beginning on Monday morning at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start. They are looking for their first trip into medal match play on Wednesday.
