Campbell Leads Patriots Up the Leaderboard Into a Tie for Fourth at King-Alfred Spring Invitational

Junior Seth Campbell matched the low round of the field on Tuesday with a two-under par score of 69 and helped UT Tyler to a fourth place finish in their home event

BULLARD, TEXAS – UT Tyler posted a team score of 292 in Tuesday's final round to jump into a tie for fourth place at the King-Alfred Spring Invitational.
 
Junior Seth Campbell matched the low round of the day with a two-under par 69 to climb 11 spots up the individual leaderboard into a tie for seventh place. UT Tyler's 292 on Tuesday slid the Patriots into a tie for fourth-place finish alongside DBU with an 885 (302-291-292) team total for the event.
 
#20 Cameron overtook UT Permian Basin in the final round to claim the team crown with rounds of 289-290-287 for an 866 team total. UT Permian Basin's Sangha Park closed out the individual crown with a 70 on Tuesday to finish eight-under par for the event with a 205 (64-71-70) three-round total.
 
Campbell made five birdies and two bogeys in his final round to card the lowest round of his UT Tyler career with the 69. The Lovelady, Texas native closed out the King-Alfred Spring Invitational with a 219 (78-72-69) total and the aforementioned seventh-place individual finish.
 
Sophomore Jackson Naeger was next up on the individual leaderboard for the Patriots with rounds of 71-73-78 for a 222 total and a tie for 14th place. Junior Carter Lewis posted a 75 on Tuesday to finish in a tie for 19th place with rounds of 76-73-75.
 
Senior Carson Whitton posted the second-lowest final round for UT Tyler with a 73 on Tuesday, and slid into a tie for 22nd place alongside freshman Luke Emerson with rounds of 77-76-73. Emerson carded a final round 75 to finish with a 226 total alongside Whitton after rounds of 77-76 on Monday.
 
Junior Alex Kopenhaver placed in a tie for 44th with rounds of 85-78-82 for a 245 total in the three rounds.
 
UT Tyler was represented by four individual competitors in the field in Fransesco Abba (79-83-78), Garrett Honeycutt (85-78-78), Ryan Willis (79-76-87) and Trent Pollard (85-82-76).
 
The Patriots fourth-place finish as a team solidified head-to-head victories over Lone Star Conference foes UAFS, #50 St. Mary's, Texas A&M International and Lubbock Christian.
 
UT Tyler will return to the links on April 3-4 at the DBU Men's Classic at Wildhorse Golf Club at Robson Ranch.
