THE LSC TOURNAMENT
UT Tyler put together another storied run at the LSC Tournament, finishing as runner-up for the second time in program history. All five players finished inside the top 20 in the individual portion of the tournament, leading the team to the #1 seed in medal match play.
There, they took a convincing 4-1 win over the Mustangs.
Blake Harwell and
Corbin Murray played huge roles in the semifinals, taking an eight shot and a six shot win.
In the finals the Patriots faced off with Cameron and put up a tough fight but fell just short in a 3.5-1.5 decision
RANKINGS, RANKINGS, RANKINGS
UT Tyler is ranked #35 in the latest Scoreboard rankings and are #8 in their regional rankings. They have an adjusted scoring average of 290.1 and a record of 93-43-4 overall.
Individually, the Patriots have a trio of golfers ranked inside the top 200 in Division II.
Blake Harwell leads the way at #100, and he is #16 in the regional rankings with a scoring average of 72.1 and has two top 10 finishes.
Preston Chabaud ranks #156 nationwide and #26 in the region. He has a 72.6 adjusted average along with a pair of top 10s.
Preston DeSerrano is #170 and #32 regionally. He also has two top 10 finishes and a 72.7 adjusted scoring average.
THE NCAA SOUTH CENTRAL/WEST REGIONAL TOURNAMENT
The NCAA South Central/West Regional Tournament will take place at The Reserve at Spanos Park in Stockton, California and will be hosted by the California Collegiate Athletic Association. The golf course opened in 1999 and was designed by Andy Raugust. It will play to par 72 and will be 7,082 yards.
The top six teams and the top two student-athletes not with a team from each regional will advance to the finals, May 18–22 at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nevada.
The Patriots are the #8 seed from the South Central Region and will be making their third straight appearance in the NCAA Regional Tournament. They have finished 19
th and 15
th the last two seasons.
They are part of the first group of tee times on day one, going off of hole 1 beginning at 7:30 a.m. local time. Day two will see them going further back in the day, again beginning on hole 1 at 10:50 a.m. local time.
