STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA – UT Tyler men's golf shot a two over par 290 on Friday in round two of the NCAA South Central/West Regional Tournament and are now in a tie for 14
th place at The Reserve at Spanos Park.
Western Washington and West Texas A&M share the top spot at 11 under par, while Cal State San Bernardino, Chico State, Cal State East Bay, and Cameron share the top five spots.
The Patriots second round featured another under par effort, this time from
Preston DeSerrano. He made a quartet of birdies to his three bogeys and added 11 pars to sit in a tie for 40
th on the individual leaderboard.
Just behind him on that leaderboard is
Blake Harwell, who shot an even par round of 72 on Friday. He also made four birdies, offsetting two double bogeys as his only two blemishes on his scorecard and he now sits in a tie for 47
th.
The final two counting scores came from
Corbin Murray and
Jacob Holloway as they shot 73 and 74, respectively. Murray made one birdie and two bogeys while adding 15 pars. Holloway made three birdies and five bogeys in his effort.
Preston Chabaud shot 78 in his round and is tied with both Murray and Holloway in 64
th place.
UT Tyler as a team ranks second in par three scoring average and in total pars, and are tied for the fifth fewest bogeys in the field.
The Patriots will tee off in the final round on Saturday beginning at 9:10 a.m. local time off of hole one.
