BOULDER CITY, NEVADA – The UT Tyler men's golf team opened up play at the Las Vegas Desert Classic with a team score of 314 at Boulder Creek Golf Club.
The Patriots finished Sunday in a tie for 14
th place in the 20-team field. UT Tyler holds head-to-head advantages over #27 Lincoln Memorial, #42 St. Mary's and #41 Colorado-Colorado Springs after 18 holes of competition in the 54-hole event.
#47 Colorado Christian was the lone team to break 300 on the day with a team score of 299 to pace the field. Missouri St. Louis's Ian McCrary was the only individual to finish the day under par with a three-under 69.
Junior
Seth Campbell led UT Tyler with a 77 in round one, and sits in a tie for 26
th place on the individual leaderboard. Sophomore
Jackson Naeger and junior
Carter Lewis posted rounds of 78 and 79, respectively, to sit in ties for 37
th and 48
th.
Freshman
Luke Emerson rounded out the four-counting score with an 80, and senior
Carson Whitton an 81.
UT Tyler will get started tomorrow morning with an 8 a.m. local time shotgun start.
