ROHNERT PARK, CALIF. – Junior
Seth Campbell made three eagles and carded a one-under round of 71 to help UT Tyler to a team score of 301 in the final round of the West/South Central Regional Preview on Tuesday.
The Patriots finished in a tie for 18
th place following Tuesday's final round with scores of 305-306-301 for a 912 three-round total. Freshman
Luke Emerson continued his quality play with a final round 74 at Foxtail Golf Club to match Campbell with a tie for 34
th place on the individual leaderboard.
#26 Cal State San Marcos shot the round of the tournament on Tuesday at 11-under par to win by 10 strokes with an 853 (286-286-281) total. Matthew Pennington of Cal State San Marcos and Jordan Lee of Western Washington shared individual honors with three-round totals of 208.
Campbell's 71 was the low round of the tournament for the Patriots and placed the Lovelady, Texas native in a tie for 34
th place alongside Emerson. Campbell posted rounds of 73-78-71 for a 222 total, while Emerson carded rounds of 75-73-74 for his 222 total.
Senior
Carson Whitton shot 77 in Tuesday's final round to finish in a tie for 92
nd place with a 233 (77-79-77) and
Carter Lewis a 79 to finish in 100
th place with a 235 (80-76-79).
Sophomore
Jackson Naeger withdrew from the tournament prior to yesterday's first two rounds due to injury.
UT Tyler will now shift their focus to the Lone Star Conference Men's Golf Championships on April 17-20 at Winstar Golf Club in Thackerville, Okla.
