UT Tyler Women's Soccer Announces 2023 Schedule

TYLER, TEXAS – The University of Texas at Tyler women's soccer program recently finalized the 2023 schedule for the upcoming fall.

The 2023 schedule will consist of 17 matches, beginning with five non-conference tilts before the 12-game Lone Star Conference slate of games. The Patriots finished 7-5-5 in 2022 and accomplished a list of firsts for the program including the best start to a season in program history, the first NCAA Division II South Central Region ranking in program history and the first overall record above .500 as a Division II program.

"This is probably one of the toughest schedules we have had in our DII era," head coach Stefani Webb said. "We are on the road most of September as well as having all of our in-conference schedule away games being some of the longer trips so we are going to spend the year as road warriors."

The 2023 regular season will begin Sep. 4th at home against Jarvis Christian College at 5 p.m. in what will be the lone home non-conference match of the year. UT Tyler will visit Rogers State, East Central, Ouachita Baptist and Harding over the course of the next two weeks in search of another fast start to the season after last year's record-breaking start to the campaign.

The Patriots will fittingly begin Lone Star Conference play on the road on Sep. 20 at St. Mary's, before finally returning home to the friendly confines of the Citizen's 1st Bank-Perkins Soccer Complex on Sep. 23 against Eastern New Mexico. That meeting with the Greyhounds will be the first of two consecutive home matches for the Patriots as they will welcome Lone Star Conference power DBU to their home pitch on Sep. 27th.

The 2023 LSC schedule will be a single round robin against all conference opponents to determine the LSC Regular Season Champion, with the top seven seeds advancing to the 2023 LSC Women's Soccer Championship based on points.

UT Tyler will make the trek to West Texas following their showdown with DBU on Sep. 30 for a battle with UT Permian Basin. The calendar flip to October will bring the Patriots back home for another Wednesday night duel under the lights with Texas A&M International on Oct. 4.

The Patriots will then compete on three straight Saturday's without a midweek match in a visit to Oklahoma Christian on Oct. 7, a home meeting with West Texas A&M on Oct. 14 and a road test at Lubbock Christian on Oct. 21. That stretch will set up a sprint to the finish of the Lone Star Conference schedule for the Patriots, beginning at home on Oct. 25 against Texas Woman's.

That match against the Pioneers in Tyler will preclude visits to Angelo State and St. Edward's on Oct. 28 and Oct. 31, before the regular season finale against Midwestern State on Nov. 3. The LSC Women's Soccer Championships will get started the following Tuesday on Nov. 7, and will run through Nov. 12.

"We spent all spring preparing for this fall schedule and it was the best spring season we have had to date so we'll be ready," coach Webb said. "We are excited to get this group back in August and to attack this schedule."
