ROCKWALL, TEXAS – The UT Tyler men's golf team finished as the runner-up at the DBU Classic following a final round 315 on Tuesday morning.
The Patriots worked through a brutal day for scoring conditions to hang on to a second-place finish with an 896 (289-292-315) three-round total at Rockwall Golf and Country Club. The win ensured head-to-head victories over a pair of teams ranked ahead of the Patriots in the NCAA Division II men's golf national rankings in no. 27 Henderson State and no. 29 Midwestern State.
#6 Central Oklahoma was the lone team in the field to shoot a sub-300 team score in Tuesday's final round that featured high wind gusts throughout the morning. The Bronchos shot 296 on Tuesday morning and 878 (292-290-296) for the three rounds to claim the team title.
Central Oklahoma's Jordan Wilson was the only player in the field to finish under-par for the tournament, shooting 73 in the final round to claim the individual title with a 214 (70-71-73) total.

Seth Campbell led the Patriots with a 75 in Tuesday's final round and finished the event in a tie for 21
st alongside junior
Luke Emerson, who posted 79 in the final round. Senior
Jackson Naeger stayed within the individual top-10 with a tie for eighth place finish following a final round 80, totaling 220 (67-73-80) for the event.
Campbell and Emerson finished with 226 totals as Campbell shot rounds of 76-75-75 and Emerson rounds of 73-74-79.

Carson Wray rounded out the scoring for UT Tyler in the final round, posting an 81 to finish in a tie for 17
th place after rounds of 73-71-81. Senior
Jay Shero matched that final round 81 to finish in a tie for 36
th place after rounds of 76-74-81 for a 231 total.

Gage Burnham completed his tournament as an individual competitor with a 76 to finish in a tie for 43
rd place with rounds of 80-77-76.
The Patriots close out a fall semester in which they notched three top-five team finishes and a pair of runner-up finishes at The Dunning Invitational and the DBU Fall Classic.
