RICHARDSON, TEXAS – Niclas Becker of UT Tyler men's soccer has been named the Lone Star Conference Goalkeeper of the Week after a standout week.
 
UT Tyler went 2-0 last week with wins over Texas A&M International and St. Edward's, with Becker playing all 90 minutes in each contest.
 
On Wednesday against the Dustdevils, Becker picked up his third win of the season after making three saves in a 3-2 Patriots win.
 
On Sunday, Becker was in top form, tying his season high of seven saves while posting his third shutout of the year in a 3-0 win over the Hilltoppers. That shutout was also the first shutout of the year for St. Edward's and gave the Patriots their second straight win for the first time this year.
 
The weekly award is the first goalkeeper award for the Patriots since Asier Vegas claimed the honor back on October 25, 2022.
 
UT Tyler is set to face off with Oklahoma Christian on Saturday in their lone match of the week. The Patriots currently sit in a tie for sixth in the LSC Standings and are firmly in the running for their second straight tournament appearance.
