AUSTIN, TEXAS – The University of Texas at Tyler softball program earned three College Sports Communicators Academic All-America honors as announced by the organization on Tuesday.
Sam Schott,
Miia Campos, and
Kaylee Davis represent the Patriots on the All-America teams, and their three selections is the most for one institution amongst the Division II programs.
Schott, a senior biochemistry major, earns her first First Team All-America honor after being selected to the Second Team last season. Schott also earned this year's NCAA Division II Softball ELITE 90 Award, an honor that goes to the athlete with the highest GPA at the final site of competition. She was named D2CCA and NFCA First Team All-Region, All-LSC First Team, LSC All-Academic Team, and earned an LSC Golden Glove.
Campos, a senior criminal justice major, earns her first Academic All-America nod of her career, coming in on the third team. Campos was named All-LSC Second Team and played every single game this season for the Patriots at third base.
Davis, also a senior criminal justice major, earns her first Academic All-America nod, also joining Campos on the third team. Davis was named an NFCA All-American, NFCA and D2CCA First Team All-Region, All-LSC First Team and All-LSC Academic Team.
The three academic team nods are the most in the Division II era of the program and most in the program overall since the 2016 when three Patriots were named to the team.
