RICHARDSON, TEXAS – UT Tyler junior Robbi Curry has been named the Lone Star Conference Goalkeeper of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
Curry posted 180 scoreless minutes in goal to help the Patriots secure two victories on the opening weekend of conference play. The Allen, Texas native recorded six saves in wins over UT Permian Basin and Texas A&M International.
She made her first start of the season Wednesday against UT Permian Basin, collecting both shots on target to register the first solo clean sheet of her career. Curry followed with a four-save performance in Saturday's 3-0 win over Texas A&M International, notching her second straight shutout.
Her efforts helped UT Tyler match the best start in program history at 5-0. The Patriots will put their unbeaten record on the line Wednesday evening against nationally ranked DBU at 6 p.m.
