VISTA, CALIFORNIA – UT Tyler men's golf vaulted four spots to sixth on the team leaderboard after a final round 289 on Tuesday at the CSU San Marcos Men's Fujikura Invitational.
The Patriots were led by
Corbin Murray and
Preston Chabaud, who shot matching rounds of one under par 71 to vault 13 places and 20 places on the individual leaderboard on Tuesday. The pair combined for five birdies each and 19 total pars between them.
The team scoring was wrapped up by
Preston DeSerrano and
Jacob Holloway, who fired rounds of 73 and 74, respectively. DeSerrano made 10 pars and four birdies, while Holloway made 12 pars and a pair of birdies.
DeSerrano slipped one spot on the individual leaderboard to seventh, finishing as the high Patriots player for the event. Murray placed 16
th individually, and Holloway placed 27
th to close out those players inside the top 30.
Connor Carver also competed on the team, finishing his tournament with a final round of 78.
Blake Harwell competed as an individual for the week, firing a final round 75 with a trio of birdies to finish 18
th overall at three over par.
The Patriots as a team finished fourth in par five scoring at 4.75 and fifth in total pars with 162.
Both Murray and DeSerrano finished third respectively in par four scoring and par five scoring, while DeSerrano finished fifth in the field in total pars.
The Patriots will have a quick turnaround as they get right back to action next week with The Rattler, hosted by St. Mary's in San Antonio, Texas at Dominion Club.
