GOODYEAR, ARIZONA – UT Tyler men's golf posted their second straight round of 284 as a team to finish in solo eighth place at the Palm Valley Classic at Palm Valley Golf Club.
The Patriots were led by a trio of under par rounds from
Braden Bergman,
Preston Chabaud and
Jacob Holloway as they shot 70, 70, and 71, respectively. Bergman's round was spurred by a three under par 33 on the front nine, leading to a two under par effort for his round. Chabaud made five birdies on the day, including a one under par effort on both the front and back nine. Holloway made three birdies and just two bogeys, closing with a one under round that included a 35 on the front nine.
The scoring was rounded out by
Blake Harwell, who shot a one over par 73 with one birdie and two bogeys to go with 15 pars.
Preston DeSerrano wrapped up his week with a 74 that featured three birdies and 12 pars.
Luke Emerson closed his final round as an individual with a one under par 71 that featured three birdies and two bogeys to go with 13 pars in a steady effort.
Harwell for the week finished as the highest Patriot on the leaderboard, closing out the week six under par and tied for 16
th. Behind him was Chabaud in a tie for 28
th.
UT Tyler now sets their sights on the Lone Star Conference Championships to be played April 20-22 at Rockwall Golf & Athletic Club.
