ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The UT Tyler men's golf team moved up a spot on the team leaderboard into 14
th place after a final round 318 to conclude the RJGA South Central Shootout at The University of New Mexico's Championship Course.
The entire field endured a final round with brutal conditions on the notoriously difficult Championship Course at UNM as the field scoring average rose nearly three strokes to 78.33 for the final round on Tuesday morning. The Patriots jumped Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference and in-region foe Regis on the final round, and finished ahead of Lone Star Conference foe Arkansas-Fort Smith with their team total of 931 (315-298-318).
Sophomore
Jackson Powers fired a final round 76 to lead the way for UT Tyler, serving as the lone Patriot to post a final round score below 80. Freshman
Francesco Abba was the low finisher for UT Tyler on the individual leaderboard, placing in a tie for 50
th place with a 230 (74-71-85) total score.
Colorado State-Pueblo took home the team crown with an 857 (283-286-288) to finish 26 shots clear of the field. Matt Millar of Colorado State-Pueblo won the individual title with a six-under par score of 210 (71-68-71).

th place with a 232 (79-77-76) total, breaking 80 in all three rounds for head coach
Michael McMunn. Sophomore
Alex Kopenhaver shot a final round 80 to finish in a tie for 70
th place with a 236 (83-73-80) total.
Freshman
Jackson Naeger and sophomore
Garrett Honeycutt finished three spots apart on the individual leaderboard and three strokes different for the event. Naegar shot a 239 (80-77-82) and Honeycutt finished at 242 (82-80-80).
Trent Pollard rounded out the Patriot finishers with rounds of 87-82-83, competing as an individual.
The Patriots will be back out on the course on Oct. 4-5 in Pueblo, Colo. at the NCAA South Central/West Region Preview at Pueblo Country Club.
